In-House + Webmaster or LRSS? A Case Study

18/08/2017

We recently talked with a 5 partner firm (update – now 2!) that does many business development processes manually (as most firms do)  which our www.LegalRSS.uk system has automated – costing thousands of pounds extra annually and wasting more than 2 hours of the marketing managers' time every week.

The economic case for switching to LegalRSS is as below.

 CURRENT POSITION

Content creation

Time spent by fee-earners -18 hrs/month – output  8 articles

Cost (at 50% charge rate)            £1620 per month

Cost per item £202.50.

Time spent doing e-newsletters                  4 hrs

Time spent chasing content and sending to webmasters 4 hours.

Cost of above at £16 per hour £128

Webmaster charge for posting content £240 per month.(£30/item)

Total cost of process £1988 per month (£248.50 per item).

Revised Position using LegalRSS

Total cost per month (40 articles) £189 (cost  £4.73 each before they add their own 'spin' if the do)

Posting cost NIL

Management time NIL

E-newsletter time – 10 mins/month (say £3)

Total cost  of process £192.

Saving – £1796 per month.

Annual increase in PEP £4315 (excluding benefits from superior engagement, better balance of material, 'big' cases being written up ahead of their competitors, social distribution, segmentation etc).

To see what your firm could save on content alone – check out the calculator at the bottom of the www.legalrss.uk website.

PS You could lease a Mercedes C class for that and still have cash to spare...
