Financing property loans: the Brexit perspective

06/04/2017

Between July and September, after the Brexit referendum, the average size of short-term bridging loans surged from £793,198 to £1.2m. The Estate Gazette’s research attributes the demand to larger property investors jumping in to purchase stock.

This presents a number of challenges and risks, both for investors and those who act for them, in areas such as conveyancing (including fraud) due diligence, tenancy considerations, consumer law and interest rate or currency fluctuations.

If you would like to explore these issues, as well as strategies to address them, we will be holding a special seminar at Middle Temple Hall, EC4Y 9BT on Tuesday 2 May.

The seminar will look at key issues posed by Brexit in the construction, property development and social housing sectors, including workforce and funding. Speakers will include Antonio Bueno QC, Barbara Zeitler, David Sawtell, Oliver Hyams and Shadow Minister of Housing, Andy Slaughter MP.
